I believe a person comes into right relationship with God by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.
Dear Warrior Poet,
Where are you trying to be “good enough”?
The old program running through your brain says if you try harder you will be pleasing to God and will receive good things from Him. This “coke machine god” will give you what you want if you just put in good works. Are you claiming grace through faith, but operating on a “works treadmill”?
God’s grace to you is just that: grace. It cannot be earned, but only by faith is it accessed and lavished upon us. Take a moment and just receive God’s grace by faith in His son Jesus. You can rest and just receive. God loves you for you and not what you do. He has no need for you to perform. He longs for relationship with you, which is why Jesus died for you. How would your life look if you stopped trying to be good enough, and simply rested and accepted, by faith, God’s grace?
