Sermon: Salvation

Watch Pastor Jeff Harris’ sermon from Sunday, September 27, 2015
“What Do We Believe? Salvation”

Key Question
How do I have a relationship with God?

Key Verse
“For it is by grace you have been saved, though faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

Why This Matters
Mercy is not getting what you deserve. Grace is receiving what you don’t!
Uncertainty that Jesus is the only way reveals a flaw in your faith.
Indifference to Jesus as the only way is unloving at best.
God’s condemnation is a result of our sin. His salvation is the gift of His grace.

Discussion Questions
Considering the relationship between God and humanity, what was the relational cost of Adam and Eve’s sin?
What are some substitute or false “saviors” in our life? What makes them attractive and how do they fall short?
Can you describe the moment or time when salvation went from being an idea to being personally real for you?
What does a life that has experienced salvation look like? What are the life-long results of an exchanged life in Jesus?
