Sermon: Ghost of Christmas Future

Watch Pastor Jeff Harris’ sermon from Sun., Dec. 1, 2013
“Unwrapping Christmas: The Ghost of Christmas Future”

Sermon Devotional
Q. Think about the Christmas traditions that you and your family practice each year and how they got started. To what degree each tradition places Jesus center stage? Finally, what one change you could make to your Christmas traditions this year in order to reclaim more of Christmas for Jesus’ name?

Q. Sometimes we fail to celebrate Jesus very much at Christmas because we’ve forgotten our individual ongoing need for Him. What is the need for Jesus you have that you need to acknowledge before God this year? Consider if confession of our ongoing need for Jesus draws us into deeper worship of Him this Christmas or not.

Q. In today’s message we were reminded that, biblically speaking, generosity is anchored in eternity and that met needs are remembered. How might you pour yourself out in order to meet specific needs of others this Christmas? Discuss the reality of “we reap what we sow” with respect to our Christ-motivated generosity this Christmas and share honestly with one another about the “harvest” you expect this year in that regard.

How is God working in your life this week? Tell me in the comments.
