Warrior Poet: 1 Peter 2:11-12

1 Peter 2:11-12  Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

Dear Warrior Poet,

There is no going back, no going home, at least not in this life. You are a stranger in a strange land and as you try to make this world home, you will only deepen and widen the hole in your heart. You only aggravate the void. It is when you realize what you were created to be and how you were created to live and you make peace with that calling that you begin to live. There are many conflicted, who want it all. They are building their business, their reputation, their safety net and all the while trying in an attempt to get God to bless it, to get Him in on it and they are the most forlorn, the most exhausted. They binge and purge from manufactured spiritual delight to emptiness because they are so divided. My son, seek first the Kingdom of God.
